Buried Secrets

Buried Secrets by Barbara Cameron is yet another Amish love story.  Although it does contain some unique elements, readers are liable to grow weary with the number of times protagonist Rose brews coffee, tea or hot chocolate.

However, the developing relationship between widowed Rose, her young son Daniel, and handyman, Luke Miller hired to bring Rose’ family farm back to life, is intriguing.  Will they marry?  Will Rose’ love for her deceased husband prevent her from finding love again?  Cameron doesn’t answer those questions until literally the final page of the book.

One cannot help but admire the strength and camaraderie of the Amish community while hoping for a love connection between Rose and Luke.  The story also incorporates the distinctive bond shared between Rose and her twin Lillian. Just how much will sisters sacrifice for one another?  Readers may be surprised to find out.

Overall, Buried Secrets is a pleasant way to pass a rainy day.
