You were tired out by the length of your road, yet you did not say, “It is hopeless.” You found renewed strength, therefore you did not faint. ~ Isaiah 57:10
The fatigued traveler shuffles forward, head down, laden with the weight of his mandate. He cannot look ahead fearing his resolve will break. The traveler has covered quite a distance yet the road appears endless. Sobs shake his shoulders as another skirmish breaks out. Progress slows as the traveler diverts his focus to the task at hand. Later, once the outbreak is contained; the traveler pauses for a reflective moment. Though the journey has been long and the destination far, “Do not be deceived my child for there has always been Hope.” Hope began with the birth of a child, continued through the life of a carpenter, appeared lost at a death on the cross but was renewed by the resurrection of a Savior. Pictures play through the traveler’s memories; successful endeavors, answers to prayer, faces of faithful friends. Gratitude floods his heart. Head up, he marches forward singing, “You are my strong tower, shelter from the storm. In you I am able.” And the journey continues.
