Roadblock – A Poem of Betrayal, Strength, and Refuge

She staggers, reeling from the unexpected blow.
Throbbing betrayal suffocates her soul.
Though the wound gapes wide, no blood spills—
Darkness swirls, melancholy settles heavy on her shoulders.

Pulsing with each heartbeat,
Electric pain courses through her limbs.
Her senses blur—
Welcome numbness, engulfs her.

Crippled care hobbles toward refuge.
Strength drained, survival dim.
She searches for reinforcements,
Vast aloneness answers back.

Her opponent watches—victorious, still.
A sinister grin splits the silence.
Shuddering sobs convulse her frame;
Hope-evicted, broken, cast aside.
Surely, she won’t rise again.

But—

She draws a breath, slow and frayed,
And lifts her weary head.
He promised: no leaving. No forsaking.
He is her refuge. He is her strength.
Even when she cannot see,
He never stops fighting
